BACKGROUND

Just grew up on the island of Jarr as an only child to a very caring mother and father. Things were nice at home, at least to his plenty child eyes. His father worked a lot to care for Just and his mother, who was often sick because of her weak immune system, but Just bonded with his mother in the years before public schooling. He bonded with both of his parents, very closely.

However, he soon realized soon that growing up isn't always easy. Just was a bright kid, but he was nervous and anxious often, dealing with quite a few social nerves and overall anxiousness. School was a disaster for him. Sure his grades were good, but his head was always swimming in the halls as he was inches away from other children that surrounded him. They were all so loud, he didn't feel like he could escape. He didn't feel like he could breathe some days. The constant anxiety caused him to fail in areas of school where he had so much potential. A few years into middle school, when his decline was most noticeable, his parents made the decision to pull him out of public schooling and instead homeschool him.

He was incredibly close with both of his parents, but his mother especially. Constantly home due to a compromised immune system, she was the one who guided her son and helped him throughout the rest of his education. On days where she was feeling good enough, they would walk out to the river for lunch and just relax.

This made her death even worse.

A few years after graduating highschool, he was at an interview (For what job, he can never remember.) It wasn't even halfway through the interview that he got a phone call. Normally, he would have declined. However, realizing it was from the hospital, he politely asked to be excused for a moment. His mother had been in a dangerous condition for a few months now, and had been in the hospital for almost the entire time. It had kept him on edge and made him jump each time his phone rang, to say the least. After the call, he barely took the time to hang up and haphazardly shove his phone in his pocket before suddenly breaking into a sprint down the hall and out of the building.

He didn't have a car. Barely anyone has cars. And there was no way he would wait for a bus. He ran all the way to the hospital, the pain in his legs barely noticeable because of the fear and adrenaline he was experiencing in that moment.

When he finally made it, who knows how long later, he barely stopped to talk to the person at the front desk. When he made it to the room his mother was kept in, his heart was in his throat and he could hardly breathe. Even when he saw the pained expression of his father's face, he didn't let himself relax. Not until he looked in the room… and saw nothing. No one there except nurses cleaning up and moving things out of the room.

His mother was dead.

And for so long after this, he was lost. After the funeral, after barely having the heart to say his goodbyes, he locked himself away. He felt broken. Every day was the same routine, wake up, go to work, come home, eat, and then sulk and mourn. It went on like this for so long, he fell down a hole that he couldn't get himself out of.

However, after so long of watching his son suffer and push him away, his father finally decided to do something. If this kid wasn't going to get himself help, then he was gonna help him do it.

The process began slowly. Easing him out of his house on days he didn't work to go and have lunch with his dad, getting him to talk to old friends and family that were worried for him, talking about her. And his father noticed how this kid worked himself to the bone. Just was numb in his current position, but he figured it was better than having time to think about anything.

After a few years of getting Just back up on his feet, to where he was finally stable and happy enough to do things on his own, he and his father began the creation of Justs current home and personal shop, Tricks 'n' Trinkets. A miscellaneous items store with this, that, and everything in between. He works there to this day. Business isn't booming, it never really was in the first place, but hey, it's better than nothing.
